ALBERTO CASADEI cello and SOMI KIM piano

Bach: Suite No 3 in C for Unaccompanied Cello, BWV 1009
Debussy: Cello Sonata in D minor
Brahms: Cello Sonata No 2 in F, Op 99

Alberto Casadei was born in Rimini and studied first at the Rossini Conservatoire in Pesaro and is now taking part in the New Artist Diploma course at the Royal Academy of Music. Amongst the many prizes and awards he has won was the 2014 Cavatina Chamber Music Trust’s Competition and Making Music’s Award for Young Concert Artists. He plays a cello made by Domenico Rogeri that once belonged to Pablo Casals. His programme demonstrates the stylistic range of the cello, from the baroque capability of Bach’s hidden counterpoint through the romanticism of Brahms to the near-modernity of Debussy.
