JAMES BOWMAN counter-tenor and ANDREW PLANT piano

Purcell: Sweeter than Roses
Handel: Where e’er you walk
Vaughan Williams: Fear no more the heat of the sun
and other songs by Dowland, Farrant, Gibbons, Britten, Howells and Holst

For our 2nd song recital of the season we welcome the very distinguished counter tenor James Bowman and his pianist Andrew Plant to perform a wide range of English songs from the 18th to the 20th centuries. James is particularly renowned for his international performances in Britten’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “Death in Venice.” While he has now retired from the operatic stage, he continues to sing for smaller audiences: their loss is our gain!

Please note that free first timers tickets will not be available for this concert
