Two Song Cycles
Schubert: Die Schöne Müllerin, Op 25, D795
Beethoven: An die Ferne Geliebte, Op 98

Nick Pritchard was a choral scholar at New College, Oxford and studied singing at the Royal College of Music.  He has sung leading roles with Opera North, Aldeburgh, English Touring Opera and The Royal Opera and has recently performed “Die Schöne Müllerin” and “An die Ferne Geliebte” in recitals throughout the country.  Beethoven’s is the first major song cycle to have been written, in 1816, while Schubert’s dates from 1823.  Both tell movingly of unrequited love and its consequences.
