Australian-Russian guitarist Andrey Lebedev burst on to the international music scene in 2014 when he was invited by guitar legend Julian Bream to perform a solo recital in London. He has also worked with guitarist John Williams, and won a number of prestigious competitions and awards. With wide-ranging musical interests, he is equally at home in early music and contemporary works, including several commissioned for him to play.
After his previous recital at St Peter’s in 2016, Andrey returns with a programme combining J S Bach with characteristic Spanish and Latin American guitar works, as well as Three Caprichos after Goya by the contemporary Australian composer, viola-player and conductor Brett Dean.
